Pan Sauce for Steak
Ingredients
- Fond the caramelised bits in the pan left after cooking the steak
- 45 ml red wine
- Knob cold butter
- 2 Grass-Fed Beef Bone Broth Cubes
Instructions
- After cooking your steak in the pan, set it aside to rest and keep the pan on a medium heat. The sauce turns out best when the fond and seasoned fat is left undisturbed, so make sure not to stir it and let the pan warm up again for a minute or two.
- Once hot, pour the wine into the pan. Let it bubble and reduce until the liquid has halved and the texture looks syrupy. This should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add in the broth cubes and stir gently as they melt. Reduce again until the sauce lightly coats the back of a spoon. This should take another 2 to 3 minutes.
- For a rich finish, whisk in the cold butter right at the end to help create a glossy and silky pan sauce.
- Serve generously poured over your rested steak.
