The Story of Borough Broth
Borough Broth was founded in 2015 by Ros, also known as the 'founding broth lady,' after discovering the incredible benefits of bringing bone broth into her own lifestyle. At the time, quality, small-batch bone broths made with organic, wholesome ingredients simply didn’t exist. Ros was determined to change that.
The inspiration behind Borough Broth came during a chance encounter with a butcher who mentioned that tonnes of bones were being discarded every year. It sparked an idea: rather than letting these valuable bones go to waste, they could be transformed into something nourishing and delicious. With that, Ros started experimenting in her kitchen, crafting bone broth from scratch using the best organic ingredients she could source.
The Growth of the Company
What began as a passion project quickly gained momentum. Ros sold her broths online and at local markets, where she soon caught the eye of Selfridges Food Hall, and from there, Borough Broth was born. The brand’s original Organic Chicken Bone Broth recipe, a staple since the very beginning, has never changed—always free-range, always organic, and always free from additives or preservatives.
Since then Borough Broth has grown into a thriving company, producing a wide range of organic broths and fats, each crafted with the same level of care and dedication. Every batch is slow-cooked to extract all the goodness from the ingredients, ensuring a rich, flavorful broth that's as nutritious as it is delicious.
