Spicy Ramen

For all you heat lovers, this fiery ramen recipe features added chilli for a tangy kick that pairs perfectly with the richness of the Organic Tonkotsu broth.As with all our Organic Tonkotsu Ramen broth recipes, this spicy ramen recipe is super versatile: you can add your own preferred quantities of toppings, or swap them out to make it your own. We’ve used tofu as the protein here, but it would also work brilliantly with pork or chicken.

Serves: 1 large or 2 small bowls
Cooking time: 20 minutes


1 portion ramen noodles

*bean sprouts


*red chilli, sliced

*sesame seeds

2 tbsp chilli oil


1 ramen egg (or medium-boiled egg), halved

1 pouch (450g) Borough Broth Co. Organic Tonkotsu Ramen Broth

*quantities can be adjusted to suit portion size


  1. In a large pan, cook the noodles according to the packet instructions and add to a large bowl.
  2. Place another large pan on the hob, add the Tonkotsu broth and bring to a boil. Once heated through, turn off the heat and leave for one minute before pouring over the noodles.
  3. Next add the tofu, ramen egg and bean sprouts.
  4. Then add a small amount of coriander, 2 tbsps of chilli oil, a handful of fresh red chilli and a sprinkle of sesame seeds and serve.
